Meets Chea Langda, One of ABC "Exceptional" Individuals

As Season 2 “The Exceptional” presented by ABC approaches the finale this 16 December 2022, EAC News sits down to get to know the 10 exceptional individuals.

Chea Langda, Founder & CEO of BookMeBus, is the go-to online platform for booking multiple transportation tickets, including buses, trains, ferries, and taxis. The company's award-winning Ticketing Management System is used by various regional transport operators, facilitating over two million travelers a year.

Langda told EAC News that he was surprised and excited to be recognized by such a big brand like ABC to promote his story, especially in entrepreneurship. He has been inspired by the inspiring stories and professionalism of the people he met during this process. Like him, they are perfectionists and result-oriented. However, he has no fear of making mistakes. In fact, he embraces failures as he loves to find innovative solutions to help make lives better. This is what “exceptional” means to him, which is why his motto is “adversities lead to new opportunities”.

He is proud of his BookMeBus, founded 7 years ago. He has grown the small travel platform to not only transport 2 million foreign and domestic travelers a year within Cambodia, but also to neighboring countries like Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. He is also proud to have helped foster young professionals to work, explore, and learn to use technology at his company to make lives better.

He hopes that those who see his journey during this “The Exceptional” campaign will understand its okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them.

He said, “I think it is important for young people to get real-life experience besides what they were taught in class, go and make meaningful mistakes, embrace those failures for a better self from time to time.”

If Langda is selected to receive the $20,000, he would like to invest the money in education-related programs, especially in “Entrepreneur Mindset.” Although today's youth have access to formal education, they need to be equipped with an “entrepreneurial mindset”. He explains “entrepreneurial mindset” as “a mindset that is positive, problem-solving instead of complaining, long term, big impact, and large scale thinking, see problems as opportunities, etc.”
